Meet MediSurge: Erin Sachau
The MediSurge team is filled with awesome people who are all passionate about creating medical devices that make a difference. Whether we’re filling gaps in the industry or creating devices that are used every day, we’re here to help save lives.
That’s why we want to introduce you to Erin Sachau, our Director of Operations. We sat down and asked some questions about why Erin loves working with MediSurge.
A Diverse Industry Background
Erin has a degree in Packaging Engineering from Michigan State University. She’s been a part of the medical device and contract manufacturing industries for about ten years. During that time, Erin’s seen a little bit of everything.
“I’ve worked on product launches, building cleanrooms, transferring products, working with large OEMs, managing suppliers, and driving continuous improvement,” she says. That experience makes her perfect for our Director of Operations, because it means she’s had a hand in almost every part of the medical device manufacturing process. It gives her a unique perspective that can really help our team members achieve their best.
A Personal Connection
When it comes to medical devices, Erin has a very personal reason for being part of the industry. “When I was younger, my grandfather had 2 heart surgeries 6 weeks apart,” she said. “The devices used on him are many of the same devices that we currently make. We as a family got 20 extra years with my grandfather, a great man, a Navy Veteran because of companies and teams like ours.”
This connection inspires Erin to always work her hardest. Still, her passion for saving lives doesn’t end there. Erin says, “Additionally, my mother has congestive heart failure. I know that if she ever needs a surgery, it is a company like ours that can help save her. We can impact people’s lives in a very significant way and that makes me so proud to work in the Medical Device industry and with MediSurge.”
Friends and Family
Working with MediSurge has been a great experience for Erin. “I love the teamwork and the great team members that we have. Our team has tons of experience and knowledge in the medical device world.” She continued, “We work really well together, work hard and have fun.”
That fun helps Erin balance her job and her life outside of work. In Erin’s free time, she visits with her niece (who, as of writing, is only eight months old!), brother, and sister-in-law. Erin also loves returning to her alma mater for sporting events that she attends with her dad. When not out and about, she also plays board games with her mom.
Erin is an asset to the MediSurge team, and we’re happy to say that she loves what she does. “Working at MediSurge has been a privilege,” Erin said. “I am learning so much and gaining many coworkers that I trust and respect.”
